Chocoholics are going to rejoice over Sesame King
Chocolate Tahini, the latest flavor of tahini paste
being introduced by Sunshine International Foods.
Sesame King Tahini is made in the U.S. from 100
percent pure ground sesame seeds that are sifted,
cleaned, roasted and ground with state-of-the-art machinery. According to company officials,
Sunshine International is the only tahini manufacturer to pasteurize its product, using Computer
Controlled Pasteurization Process (CCPP).
“There are a lot of health benefits to tahini and
our product is all-natural with no preservatives
and no additives,” says Emile D. Maroun, general
manager of Sunshine International Foods, based in
Methuen, Mass. “We are also peanut- and tree nut-
free, non-GMO and gluten-free.”
Tahini is a staple of Middle Eastern cooking and
is a key ingredient of hummus. According to
Maroun, Sesame King Chocolate Tahini is a
healthier choice than the popular chocolate
hazelnut spreads on the market.
“We only have three ingredients in our
product and it is one-third of the sugar,”
Maroun says. “Chocolate Tahini is great for
spreading on toast, as a fruit dip, melted in
a chocolate fountain, on top of ice cream, in
smoothies, or just right from the jar.”
In addition to Chocolate, Sesame King
Tahini is also available in Roasted, Light
Roast, Olive Oil, Garlic, Cajun and Honey fla-
vors. A 16-ounce jar has a suggested retail
